Cardinals are fond of our feeders. This guy seemed to like to show off his profile. Skittish little birdies they are, and actually getting one to hang out for a photo session is a rarity.

Mia has relaxation down to an art. I think I took this photo a couple of years ago. Mia’s in the habit of waiting until I rise from my chair while teaching piano, then she jumps onto it and lounges until I accidentally sit on her. You’d think she’d learn. She is not any flatter for the experience, though. Mia the Fat Cat.

After a second look at this photo, I see that Mia’s sitting at the dulcimer. She’s an equal-opportunity instrument loving cat.

It’s been seven years since the Gates were in Central Park, and Audrey and I froze our noogies to walk among them.

Mia isn’t nearly this acrobatic anymore; come to think of it, Randy’s hair is a bit grayer, too. It’s been years since Mia was svelt enough to jump the ledges.

The Recital.

For my birthday this year, I gave a piano recital. It was FUN!!! Patrick and I had planned to do one in Seattle a few years ago, and since that’s not a possibility anymore, I decided to go ahead and continue on my own. Therapy for me. There were some rough days preparing for it, for sure. It was nice to prove to myself that I can still play an hour-long program from memory. The brain is not dead yet.
